IES Founder and Principal Engineer Bill Woods, P.E. created IES in 2003 and works in Grand Junction, Colorado. Bill earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Colorado State University, a Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the University of Idaho and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Denver. During his 30 years of experience he has worked in a variety of settings, including 2 years as a Design Electrical Engineer for Fluor Corporation, 7 years as a Relay and Control engineer for the Western Area Power Administration, 5 years as a Senior Electrical Engineer for ARCO, 7 years as the Engineering Manager for Loveland Light & Power, and 9 years as an owner of an electrical contracting firm. Bill is a Registered Professional Engineer in Colorado and Utah, a licensed Master Electrician in Colorado and a Certified Level I Thermographer. As a member of the IEEE Industrial Applications Society he is on the IEEE 1584 “Standards for Performing Arc Flash Hazard Calculations” Committee.
